Who is she?

 Hiii everyone! Welcome to my  blog ❤️ This is going to be a space where I bring you into my world: salon life, family, fashion weeks, campaigns, projects, any and all things you’re interested in. 


So, for starters, who am I? Well! It’s so nice to officially meet you, my name is Emily. I’m a 25 year old nail designer, and I’ve been in the industry for 4 years now! I work full time at a luxury salon & spa in Milwaukee, WI but also do a lot of work out in NY in the fashion world. So much has happened in these last four years and there is still so much to come. So welcome, thank you for coming with me along on this ride! I can’t wait to share all of the fun with you ☺️ 


HOW DID I GET INTO NAILS? 

I get this question so much haha. Fun fact: I actually was in college for criminal justice for a few years before I decided to go into the beauty industry. I have alllways loved doing nails. I had this giant pink leopard print tote bag filled to the max with nail polishes when I was younger. I used to con all of my family into letting me paint their nails and do some sort of fun design. I would say I peaked in about middle school with my nail journey and then kind of just fell off. In high school I worked reception at a local nail shop and then got distracted with other jobs so I never thought I could actually be the one doing nails. When I realized the college criminal justice thing wasn’t for me I was so scared to tell my parents I wanted to drop out. And my fiancé (boyfriend at the time) really encouraged me to do something I love. So, I did some research and found out I could go to school for just nails, I didn’t have to do full Cos, and we did it. I went to the Institute of Beauty and Wellness, an Aveda beauty school here in Milwaukee and started working at the salon right after graduation.  


WHAT’S TO COME?

Wellll haha, funny you asked 🤭 a few big things are happening. I’m getting married!!! 🥹💍 I just worked on my first magazine editorial 🥲 And my sister is having a baby girl in the next few months 🩷🩷 ahhh!! So! So much is happening, it’s a beautiful thing. I’ll talk more about all of these things in other editions. For now I want to keep this into a welcome model ❣️ So, thank you for being here. How did we get here?

Hi everyone! Welcome back to the blog. I hope you all had a great week and I hope you’re enjoying the start of this journey. So, this week we are going to talk about how we got to NY. There is so much fun content to share from my time in NY so I want to start you guys off with how we even got there in the first place.  It’s kind of crazy and surreal actually. This was my first year where I could actually take a step back & acknowledge with myself where I was and that it was my hard work  that got me there. When I first started doing nails I met a woman from Milwaukee who was a fashion designer- Elena Velez. I met her in April 2021 and she was debuting at fashion week that following September. When we were talking she asked me if I had ever been to fashion week and if I ever wanted to go. I didn’t know if this lady was just delusional or if people actually could just “go to fashion week”. Reaching & Relationships

 Hii guys!! Welcome back, I hope you all had a great week! Getting right into it, this week we’re going to go off of a little of what we talked about last week. Last week I lightly mentioned starting to research & get more involved in fashion week. Sooo let’s get innn tooo ittt.  Once I realized that I loved the industry and that I wanted to be more involved I truly didn’t know where to start. I just took a step back and observed with different eyes to begin with. After I saw who people were working with and what other people were doing as far as collabs I started looking into brands that I would want to work with. Essentially, just went through the FW line ups and following everyone, starting to dm people. I knew that with the shows that I was doing already I worked very closely with the stylists- so I started looking into stylists as well. You just gotta dm everyone lol. You have to find the people of the people. You have to dm everyone, email everyone and really just put yoursel
